So are we really in depression or recession or is this simply a ruse to sell more newspapers. No doubt a lot of people are suffering but the more the media shout the D word or the R word the more it is likely to come true. Its all about the C word actually namely confidence. Once you lose confidence then its a self fulfilling prophesy. So maybe the answer is to stop reading the media and listening to the news and just get on with our lives

Well at long last we are about to launch out site www. grumpyoldfriends.com . It' s been long in gestation and is still a beta site but its for those of you who have something serious to say about what is going on this world and want to share this with others and invite comment. You can do the other social network stuff as well including posting pictures etc.

MP's and their family

So the latest scandal /shock/horror story is that MP's have been employing members of their family to work for them. It seems its not so much the employment of wives,children or friends but the fact that in many cases there is little evidence that have actually done much for their money. I assume they are simply following their bosses in that regard so they can hardly be blamed!!

In any event how else are the long suffering wives /husbands of politicians going to keep an eye on them when they are away from home. Would we prefer them to have a "family affair" or another type of affair? The choice is yours
